Another Recruitment Interview Scam. Now in the name of Sony Electronics Limited

by Guest 5/19/2010 1:16:00 PM

Last few months have seen  active mass mails by spammers baiting people

looking for jobs by offering high paying employment in different companies.

The spammers  bombarded netspace with Interview Offers by email in the name

of  Sansui Technologies India and later IFB Industries Limited. Due to wide publicity

given to this fake recruitment, the criminal gang has changed company name in the

scam mail  to “Sony Electronics Limited”

In all cases the job description is same. Only the name of  Company, Account Number

and name of the people and phone numbers are changed! The spammers describe

these companies as coming up with large expansion and hence require qualified manpower.

Many people have fallen for the scam which asks users to pay certain amount by DD.

You have to deposit an initial security amount in favor of Company HRD for the sum of

Rs.6,250/- This is refundable interview security against your interview management by

HRD. Company will pay all the expenditure to you at the time of face-to-face meeting

with you In Company.”  The Scam mail says.

Its unfortunate that people fall for this scam where the mails are from some third parties

and people collecting money are all crooks operating with fake identities.

They have created mail ID   ending with digitalbuzz.com instead of using Yahoo or Gmail

to  make it look genuine.

The same people may be behind another recruitment scam in the name of GCI Enterprises

which targets lower level staff.

According to the fake mail which  is being sent to millions in India right now, the fraudsters have

short listed only 24 people for employment at Sony Electronics Limited! But mail goes to millions!

Each person who receives is fooled into believing that he is one of the 24. They fail to understand

that the same mail is received by lakhs of people and many may in fact be sending DDs to the crooks.  The fake recruitment mail ends with

“Mr. Rajesh Gupta
Sony Electronics Limited.
Mobile, CTV and Computer Manufacturing Division G – 82, UNIT – II, MIDC, Industrial Area, Near

Power House, PUNE. - HRD. Contact Nos. – 08954051833, 09528820282”

Complaints-India, a consumer awareness forum, has cautioned people from making any payment

to any one offering employment.

All such recruitment scam mails should be reported to  CBIs Cyber Crime Division: Superintendent of Police,

Cyber Crime Investigation Cell  E-Mail: cbiccic@bol.net.in   with Subject as “Sony Recruitment Scam

with Bank Account Number “

The concerted effort of consumer forums is making these scamsters to change company names,

account number etc. But the police has to act based on complaints received by them.

Facebook link on other sites may threaten ad biggies

by Guest 5/4/2010 4:39:00 PM

Facebook's move to export its social networking features across the Internet could bolster the company's advertising business and
pose an increasing threat to the Web's reigning advertising giants. Facebook, which has more than 400 million registered users, is the No. 1 website in the United States by page views, according to comScore.

But it is a relatively small player in the online ad market, where Google's paid search business dominates, and a variety of Web portals and ad networks battle over billions of dollars in graphical display advertising. With its new initiative to expand beyond the borders of Facebook.com, however, Facebook has created the framework for a new generation of highly targeted ads. More...

Difference Among C.V, Resume & Biodata

Difference Among C.V, Resume & Biodata

People use the words RESUME, C.V., and BIO-DATA interchangeably for the
document highlighting skills, education, and experience that a candidate
submits when applying for a job. On the surface level, all the three
mean the same. However, there are intricate differences.

RESUME
Resume Is a French word meaning "summary", and true to the word
meaning, signifies a summary of one's employment, education, and other
skills, used in applying for a new position. A resume seldom exceeds one
side of an A4 sheet, and at the most two sides. They do not list out all
the education and qualifications, but only highlight specific skills
customized to target the job profile in question.
A resume is usually broken into bullets and written in the third person
to appear objective and formal. A good resume starts with a brief
Summary of Qualifications, followed by Areas of Strength or Industry
Expertise in keywords, followed by Professional Experience in reverse
chronological order. Focus is on the most recent experiences, and prior
experiences summarized. The content aims at providing the reader a
balance of responsibilities and accomplishments for each position. After
Work experience come Professional Affiliations, Computer Skills, and

WASHINGTON: Government officials and business leaders from around the world will begin a three-day meeting in Texas today to discuss what all agree
is an area of common and growing concern: cybersecurity.

The Worldwide Cybersecurity Summit, hosted by the EastWest Institute (EWI), opens in Dallas and will feature discussions on ways to protect the world's digital infrastructure from electronic threats.

Among those scheduled to address the gathering, being held in the wake of sophisticated cyberattacks on Google which the Internet giant said originated in China, are President Barack Obama's National Security Advisor James Jones and White House cybersecurity coordinator Howard Schmidt. More...

Honeypot! Indian Diplomat Does "It" in Pakistan

by Guest 4/30/2010 4:02:48 AM

This is indeed sensational! An attractive Indian Woman Officer  falls for an ISI agent, in Islamabad,  who lays   sexual and money  traps.  She falls for his charms and over 2 long years, turns into a Pakistani Spy, passing  all information that she could gather,  to  Pakistan.

The Indian Intelligence got wind of the matter late and by the time they caught the Spy Queen, she had passed on vital information to Pakistan

The Indian Agencies, as usual, have been denying that any sensitive information had been passed on. This, while they themselves do not know the what, when where   of it!

The 53 year old   Madhuri Guptha  is  said to be attractive and single. Great combination for ISI and Pakistan’s Intelligence Bureau(IB) to lay a Stag Trap by setting up an ISI agent (untraceable now) named “Rana” to get intimate with her.

Once sexual intimacy grew, it would have been easy for “Rana” to get Madhuri to eves drop and gather information for Pakistan. It speaks volumes about India’s intelligence system that allowed one of its officers to share linen with an ISI agent in Islamabad over two years. When they could not detect these two slithering into bed   for 2 years and having a ball, how could Indian Agencies claim that  “no sensitive information had been passed on”!

According to sources, Madhuri,  had also been receiving large chunks of money,  through “Rana” which she deposited in a Pakistani bank and that the money was then transferred to Indian banks as regular pay offs received from the Inter Services Intelligence.

Its now being widely discussed that apart from various other things,  Madhuri had collected identities of India’s counter intelligence agents deployed in various countries and passed on to Pakistan!   Is that not a State Secret?  It’s a virtual rip-off which totally exposes Indian intelligence gathering system across the world.

Computers seized from home of blogger in iPhone inquiry

by Guest 4/29/2010 3:56:48 PM

Gawker Media said on Monday that computers belonging to one of its editors, Jason Chen, were seized from his home on Friday in an apparent
investigation into the sale of a next-generation Apple iPhone. Gawker suggested the action violated California’s shield law for journalists.

The technology blog Gizmodo, which Gawker owns, published articles last week about the phone after buying the device for $5,000 from a person who, according to the site, found it at a bar in California last month. More...

Two-year-old Micromax becomes India's third-largest mobile phone vendor

by Guest 4/29/2010 3:53:48 PM

Two years ago, when the Goliaths—Nokia, Samsung and LG—had a firm grip on one of the fastest growing mobile markets in the world, a David
was born. Just two-years old, still in its nappies, this David has pushed Goliaths into a tight corner and is giving them a run for their money.

Micromax, the David, is now the third-largest GSM mobile phone vendor in India, after Nokia and Samsung, with a market share of 6%, according to research firm IDC. The Rs 1,600-crore brand, which sells around 1 million mobiles every month, has a presence in more than 500 districts through 70,000 retail outlets. More...

ISRO burns US$75Million. India’s First Satellite Launch Vehicle with Indigenous Cryogenic Engine Disintegrates.

by Guest 4/16/2010 1:19:00 AM
Idia’s effort  to launch Geo Synchronous Launch Vehicle ( GSLV-D 3)  with  homegrown cryogenic engine, was undone by massive failure of the cryogenic engine. A successful mission would have  would taken India into the elite club of space-faring nations comprising the United States, Russia, certain European countries, Japan and China who possess the cryogenic technologyThe GSLV flight was to have placed the 2.2 Tonne advanced communication satellite GSAT-4, into Geo Transfer Orbit.

The 49-metre tall three-stage Geo Synchronous Launch Vehicle blasted off at 4.27pm at the end of a 29-hour countdown but minutes later, the cryogenic engine which was to fire and take control from the initial liquid propellant stage, failed to ignite, resulting in mission failure. The space vehicle tumbled uncontrollably and disintegrated. Obviously, the mission achieved little, except to prove that ISRO has not been able to demonstrate advanced indigenous technologies though millions of dollars of tax payers money is being burned, every year, to support the hugely manned  organization. Within minutes of the historic failure and without even going into the reasons,  ISRO had no qualm in claiming that it will be ready to test again within a year.   ISRO  had invested Rs.330 Crores (Approx US$ 75 Million)  on the Project.  Its not sure whether this includes the fat pay and allowances of the work force. Obviously, since the  tax payers in India seldom ask questions, ISRO need not bother about  fund requirement for the next adventure!   Incidentally Chandrayan1, the moon mission,  had to be aborted several months in advance and it  damaged the country's   space exploration program.  “The 100 million U.S. dollar moon mission survived for only 315days. It was scheduled for two years.   It's a great loss to India's space explorations. The abandoning of the mission has dashed the country's most ambitious effort in space explorations. It was a major boost to the country's space program, particularly with India competing with Asian nations like China and Japan in this field," said space analyst R.K. Roy. Contrary to  ISRO’s explanation that Chandrayaan's orbit around the moon had been raised from 100km to 200km in May this year for a better view of the moon's surface (sic), it was  revealed later  that this had to be done because of a miscalculation of the moon's temperature that had led to faulty thermal protection and eventually the satellite could not be saved, and was virtually “fried” in space.  While critics even within ISRO, confirmed that the mission was a huge failure, the  then chief of  ISRO, Mr Madhavan Nair said  it was a great success. “We could collect a large volume of data, including more than 70,000 images of the moon. In that sense, 95 percent of the objective was completed”. No wonder critics wondering how 95% of mission objectives could be completed with mission surviving less than half its intended life!ISRO had tried to bask in the glory of American payload (moon Impact Probe)  on the mission,  finding water on Moon, claiming all over the place including the national television that Chandrayan found water on Moon! That was like  driver of a truck claiming Nobel Prize since his  truck had carried scientific instruments which was used in research.  ISRO can not brush aside failures (example: Loss of INSAT 4C  and `strap-on' fire mishap suffered by the GSLV D1), camouflaging them as mere technical hitches. The country needs valid answers for the string  failures, which have burned  millions of dollars. Govt. of India should not get carried away by the  technical  jargon mouthed by ISRO. It needs to make ISRO officers accountable for the failures.  Heads need to roll in ISRO.

Is Twitter aiming at Facebook Connect?

by Guest 3/30/2010 12:46:00 PM

USTIN, Texas--Some were wondering if Twitter's big Monday announcement at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSWi) would be an attempt to one-up Google in search ads. But, no: With its new @Anywhere technology, the company's real target may be Facebook's successful Facebook Connect.

The Twitter announcement was part of a talk by CEO Evan Williams that was, well, a bit vanilla. But people are excited by @Anywhere, which will be debuting soon on third-party partners like The New York Times, eBay, and Amazon. Though a lot of the details aren't yet clear, the basic explanation is that Twitter content will soon be accessible through third-party sites in a much deeper form.
