The spammers bombarded netspace with Interview Offers by email in the name
of Sansui Technologies India and later IFB Industries Limited. Due to wide publicity
given to this fake recruitment, the criminal gang has changed company name in the
scam mail to “Sony Electronics Limited”
In all cases the job description is same. Only the name of Company, Account Number
and name of the people and phone numbers are changed! The spammers describe
these companies as coming up with large expansion and hence require qualified manpower.
Many people have fallen for the scam which asks users to pay certain amount by DD.
“You have to deposit an initial security amount in favor of Company HRD for the sum of
Rs.6,250/- This is refundable interview security against your interview management by
HRD. Company will pay all the expenditure to you at the time of face-to-face meeting
with you In Company.” The Scam mail says.
Its unfortunate that people fall for this scam where the mails are from some third parties
and people collecting money are all crooks operating with fake identities.
They have created mail ID ending with digitalbuzz.com instead of using Yahoo or Gmail
to make it look genuine.
The same people may be behind another recruitment scam in the name of GCI Enterprises
which targets lower level staff.
According to the fake mail which is being sent to millions in India right now, the fraudsters have
short listed only 24 people for employment at Sony Electronics Limited! But mail goes to millions!
Each person who receives is fooled into believing that he is one of the 24. They fail to understand
that the same mail is received by lakhs of people and many may in fact be sending DDs to the crooks. The fake recruitment mail ends with
“Mr. Rajesh Gupta
Sony Electronics Limited.
Mobile, CTV and Computer Manufacturing Division G – 82, UNIT – II, MIDC, Industrial Area, Near
Power House, PUNE. - HRD. Contact Nos. – 08954051833, 09528820282”
Complaints-India, a consumer awareness forum, has cautioned people from making any payment
to any one offering employment.
All such recruitment scam mails should be reported to CBIs Cyber Crime Division: Superintendent of Police,
Cyber Crime Investigation Cell E-Mail: cbiccic@bol.net.in with Subject as “Sony Recruitment Scam
with Bank Account Number “
The concerted effort of consumer forums is making these scamsters to change company names,
account number etc. But the police has to act based on complaints received by them.
