Ness Hyderabad in Troubled Waters?

by Guest 6/9/2008 4:26:48 AM

After a 3 year stinct with a leadning MNC in India, I joined Ness IBS Hyderabad expecting a good career growth and challenging opportunities. I have stepped in to my role with a positive mindset after getting good feedback from my Ness Bangalore friends. To my dismay, the experience at Ness Hyderabad is one of the worst in my career spanning 6 years in IT industry. The work culture is not professional, with lots of groups floating around and people spending more time discussing about internal politics compared to the time they actually work. I heard that Ness took over a small Hyderabad company to establish itself in AP. Probably the culture transition is yet to take place.

All those issues were minor for me as I am more of a workaholic and as I am less interested in gossip. But I didn't have good time with the processes as well. Within a span of 3 months, I was put on to 3 projects. And right now, I am in resource pool with no work. I could undertand that it happens at times. But what is more disturbing is the way they terminate employees. Employees are recruited from different places and companies. Each such employee puts lot of effort in relocating and shifting the whole family. All of a sudden, they terminate people with silly and unethical reasons. Grapevine has it that one of the key player in management parted away from Ness and started his own company. With his move, he also took potential clients with him. All of a sudden, the pipeline which was promising few months back, is almost empty now. All the recruitment done anticipating those projects is a overhead now. Hence they are firing.

There is no job satisfaction and every week is like a suspense film for us, especially for people in resource pool. I regret my decision to join this company when my career was growing nicely. Now, I can't do much. IT has slowed down, and when I try looking for other opportunities, people do ask, 'Why do you want to change so soon?'. I can't explain these reasons as it might play negative. I am kind of got stuck here...

Just sharing this with all of you to give you the actual picture inside this company. If you are looking for offer in this company, you better think twice!

Regards,
TL.
